Welcome to our new faculty and staff for 2016-2017!

We are excited to welcome nine new members to the school's faculty and staff in the upcoming year!

Ashley Cocca - School Counselor

I’m excited to be the new full School Counselor for Bache-Martin Elementary! I have a varied background in education, school counseling and the mental health field.

I graduated from the GSE at the University of Pennsylvania with a dual Master's degree in Education and Professional Counseling. I worked in the School District of Philadelphia as a School Counselor for 3 years and then focused on building my clinical skills as a Mental/Behavioral Health Clinician for the past 4 years. I am excited to be back in the role of School Counselor and look forward to being a part of the Bache-Martin community.
I lived in the Fairmount neighborhood for 6 years and recently bought a home in Brewerytown. We have a beautiful one year old daughter, Evelyn, who keeps us on our toes and always laughing! I love to run, eat Italian food (Angelino's is the best!), drink tea at OCF and be with my family and friends.

I am ready to continue to learn and grow as your School Counselor and I hope to create a safe space where students, family and the school community are listened to, serviced and supported.

Note: Ms. Cocca has created the  Bache-Martin School Counselor website; it has information, and helpful resources,  for Bache-Martin families!

Cara Donahue - Learning Support and Special Education

My name is Cara Donahue and I am very excited to be teaching at Bache-Martin this year! I have been a teacher in Philadelphia for almost 9 years. I am coming from John Marshall Elementary, where I was a Learning Support Teacher and the Special Education Liaison. I have always wanted to be a teacher, especially since both my mom and grandmother were teachers.

My favorite subject to teach is Social Studies and I love planning field trips to the Old City neighborhood in Philly. I graduated from St. Joe’s in 2005 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education and I am currently working on my master’s at Drexel University. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and reading. I live in Blue Bell, PA with my husband, Paul, and our dog, Hurley.

Emmaline Imbriglia - Kindergarten

Emmaline (or Emma) Imbriglia is very excited to begin her teaching career at Bache-Martin as a kindergarten teacher! She grew up in Swarthmore, PA, not too far from Center City. After attending Boston College, Emma received her MSW from Penn, and worked for a year with children and young adults diagnosed with autism in Northeast Philadelphia.

After realizing her heart belonged in the classroom, she attended Penn’s Teacher Education Program, during which she student taught third grade and kindergarten. When she is not in the classroom, Emma enjoys exercising, watching Netflix, and hanging out with her dog, a Pomeranian named Tank. Emma is very grateful for the opportunity to teach at a school as wonderful as Bache-Martin, and hopes to integrate her love for children’s literature into the classroom.

Armando Jenkins - Computer Science & TTL

Mr. Armando Jenkins has been teaching Computer Science and serving as a Technology Teacher Leader (TTL) at the School District of Philadelphia since 2004. He has obtained a BS in Accounting and an MBA with a concentration in Information Technology. Mr. Jenkins completed the Post-Baccalaureate teacher certification program offered through Drexel University, and he currently holds a level II, K-12 Business, Computer & Information Technology Instructional Certification.
Before teaching, he worked as an Accountant for a large mutual fund company, an Auditor for a governmental agency and a Program Officer at a charitable foundation. Mr. Jenkins enjoyed his career in finance; however, over time he learned education was his true passion. Since then, Armando has been leveraging technology to better educate the youth. Mr. Jenkins is thrilled to be joining the Bache-Martin staff and looks forward to working with the school’s staff, students and parents.

Sarah Lowry - 3rd Grade

I graduated from Shippensburg University with a degree in Early Childhood Education.

I taught second grade for a year and also worked with students in a life skills classroom for a year. For the first half of this year I taught fourth grade at Kirkbride Elementary. I played soccer, basketball, and softball growing up and The Phillies will always be my favorite sports team.

I am excited to be at Bache- Martin and am looking forward to a wonderful rest of the school year.
